A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Dr Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, has said the participation of Nigerians from different political backgrounds at the inauguration of the council indicates growing acceptance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership.
Kwankwaso said the presence of individuals associated with opposition parties, including the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the Labour Party, demonstrated their willingness to support Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
He argued that the participation of politicians from different political affiliations at the event reflected a shared interest in the country’s future, particularly the economic policies of the Tinubu administration.
“It has never happened in Nigerian political history that one man attracted people from nearly all opposition parties, including politicians who had never agreed to sit together, but because of Tinubu, they accepted to come on board and pursue a common goal,” he said.
Kwankwaso also referred to remarks attributed to Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo and other political figures, saying they had acknowledged aspects of Tinubu’s economic agenda.
He described the President’s economic blueprint as a policy framework whose objectives, he argued, would be better understood by people familiar with global economic realities.
The APC chieftain acknowledged the economic difficulties facing Nigerians but maintained that Tinubu remained committed to achieving his administration’s development objectives.

He said the 2027 general election should not be viewed merely as a contest over the President’s re-election but also as a decision concerning the country’s economic future.
Reflecting on the inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Council, Kwankwaso said the gathering had strengthened his confidence in Tinubu’s second-term ambition.
“To me, the inauguration of the Campaign Council is just like a congregation celebrating the re-election of President Tinubu back to office,” he said.
Turning to Kano State, Kwankwaso expressed confidence that the political cooperation he described at the national level would also extend to the state and other parts of the country.
He cited Tinubu’s public recognition of Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, including the symbolism associated with the governor’s distinctive cap, as an indication of political alignment ahead of the 2027 elections.
Kwankwaso linked the development to what he described as a joint second-term ambition involving Tinubu and Governor Yusuf, alongside Yusuf’s proposed deputy, Murtala Sule Garo.
He listed several political figures he said were working towards Tinubu’s re-election and the continuation of Yusuf’s administration in Kano.
They include Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, House of Representatives member Abubakar Kabir Bichi, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, Abdulmumini Jibrin Kofa, Senator Kawu Sumaila, former Kano State governor Ibrahim Shekarau, Alhassan Rirum and former APC National Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

According to Kwankwaso, the politicians are pursuing a common political objective centred on Tinubu’s second-term bid and the continuation of the Yusuf administration in Kano.
He further expressed confidence that the APC would mobilise substantial support for Tinubu across Northern Nigeria.
However, Kwankwaso’s claims about widespread cross-party support and anticipated votes represent his assessment as a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general election.
