APC chieftain urges Nigerians to support Federal reforms, saying it poses temporary challenges

Kola Oyelere, Kano

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State, Dr. Mohammed Musa Zango (Fatah), has called on Nigerians, regardless of political affiliation, to support the reforms being implemented by the APC-led administration at the federal level.

Zango said although some of the reforms might present temporary challenges, they were necessary to achieve sustainable development in the country.

He explained that the policies were designed to reposition Nigeria’s economy, strengthen national security and promote development across different sectors.

The APC stalwart also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership and reform initiatives under the Renewed Hope Agenda, which he said were aimed at revitalising the nation’s economy, strengthening democratic institutions and promoting social inclusion.

Zango made the remarks on Monday during a press conference held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat in Kano, where he addressed journalists on the outcome of the party’s recently concluded congress and the future of the APC in the state.

He noted that the successful conduct of the congress demonstrated the maturity, discipline and democratic spirit within the party, adding that the emergence of a new State Executive Committee marked another step towards strengthening the APC’s structure in Kano.

Zango congratulated the newly elected party executives, expressing confidence that their experience and commitment would help unite members and further consolidate the party’s position in the state.

“I am confident that with their wealth of experience, dedication and commitment, the new leadership will strengthen the party structure and unite members in Kano State,” he said.

He also commended the immediate past leadership of the party for what he described as honest, transparent and accountable stewardship while in office.

The APC chieftain further praised the national leadership of the party for promoting unity, cohesion and stability across the country.

Zango equally acknowledged the efforts of Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for creating what he described as an enabling political environment that allows citizens and party members to participate freely in the democratic process.

Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, he urged APC members, stakeholders, youth and women groups to close ranks and intensify grassroots mobilisation to ensure electoral victories for the party.

Zango also prayed for peace and progress in Kano State and the country at large, while appreciating members of the press for their role in informing the public and strengthening democratic discourse.
