A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and aspirant for the Ife Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, Sunday Abraham Omolajaye, has thrown his weight behind the re-election bid of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, describing his administration’s performance as one that “deserves renewal.”

Omolajaye, who holds the traditional title of Òlúòmó of Ìwàrá Land, made his position known in a statement titled “Performance That Deserves Renewal”, where he declared his “unalloyed support” for Adeleke’s second term ambition.

According to him, leadership should be assessed based on measurable progress rather than political rhetoric. He noted that under Adeleke’s stewardship, governance in Osun State has taken a humane and development-focused direction.

He commended the administration for prioritising the payment of workers’ salaries and pensions, describing them as “sacred obligations” rather than political favours.

He also highlighted ongoing infrastructural renewal and efforts to restore public institutions across both urban and rural communities in the state.

“What distinguishes this administration is not merely its projects, but its philosophy — governance anchored on inclusivity, fiscal responsibility and social justice,” Omolajaye stated, adding that the government has rebuilt public trust and demonstrated that compassion and competence can coexist in leadership.

The federal lawmaker hopeful further argued that development is a continuous process that should not be disrupted midway.

He warned that halting a reform-driven administration at a critical consolidation stage could reverse the gains already recorded.

“The next electoral cycle is not a referendum on promises; it is a decision about preserving momentum,” he said, maintaining that re-electing Adeleke would ensure stability, continuity and accelerated transformation in Osun State.

Omolajaye also expressed optimism about fostering synergy between federal representation and state leadership if elected to represent Ife Federal Constituency at the Green Chamber.

He said alignment with a performing state government would enhance access to federal interventions and strengthen project implementation for the benefit of constituents.

He described his endorsement as a declaration of faith in continuity, competence and compassionate governance, urging the people of Osun to defend and consolidate the progress achieved so far.
