Kano Correspondents Chapel organise ” Tea Break ” to unite members ,taps knowledge from media gurus

The Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ),Kano State chapter ,on Sunday,in it’s efforts to

strengthen relationships between the chapel ,hosted Senior Colleagues in Journalism and friends of the profession to a Tea Break as a way of tapping knowledge from media gurus who have contributed to the profession
However,the maiden event was fully sponsored by an Associate Professor Suleiman Ya’u Sule of the Faculty of Mass Communication,Bayero University,Kano(BUK),the Tea Break held at the NUJ press centre,Kano.

Speaking at the occasion,the Chairman of the chapel, Alhaji Murtala Adewale, said the Tea Break was initiated for members of the chapel to relax and unwind after their reportorial rigours.

According to him,” the Initiative was aimed at socializing and strengthening relationships with prominent members of the society, including Senior journalists”

Comrade Adewale however stated that the unique event would continue ,while the chapel would also continue to invite notable members of the public to feature at the Tea Break as  away of tapping knowledge from the media gurus who have paid their dues in the profession

It would also pave the way for them to “ventilate” their views on various newsworthy issues for members of the chapel to disseminate”.he said
Comrade Adewale,who promised that under his leadership,Insha Allah, the chapel would continue to unite its members and carry all of them along in its activities for the progress and development of all.
He emphasized that with the unalloyed supports of members,the new leadership under his watch had embarked on programmes aimed at transforming the chapel,including the rehabilitation and renovation of its toilets, provision of 5G Router Internet facility and DSTV satellite facility.

He gave kudos to the Associate Professor Suleiman Ya’u Sule, who also was a two-time Director of Press at the Government House,Kano,for funding the maiden edition of the programme.

Also speaking at the event ,Prof.Ya’u described the Tea Break as a beautiful idea that would enable members of the chapel to relax from the pressure of journalistic work.

According to him, the initiative would also make the journalists socialize and fratanize among themselves and with friends of the profession.

Professor Yau Sule noted that
“This gathering is a beautiful idea because its essence is to enable our colleagues to relax and unwind because of the pressure of our kind of work.It will also help us to socialize and fraternize,”

He also hailed the chapel for coming up with the initiative and urged the leadership to sustain it.

While speaking at the occasion, the immediate-past Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs in the State, Malam Baba Halilu Dantiye, commended the chapel’s leadership for the Tea Break idea and pledged his continued support for the progress and development of the chapel.

Malam Dantiye who expressed his delight added that the Tea Break which featured roasted ram meat,cakes and various brands of tea, among other cuisines, was graced by the Press Secretary to the State Deputy Governor and Chairman of Prime Time News Publications, Kano,Alhaji Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu.

The gathering was attended by , who is who in the society,among them were the  immediate-past Chairman of the state Council of the NUJ, Comrade Abbas Ibrahim, the council’s incumbent Vice Chairman,Malam Mustapha Gambo, the image maker of the Nigeria Police ,SP Haruna Kiyawa, the Public Relation of the Nigeria Custom Service Kano | Jigawa command ,the publisher of Solabace online newspaper Comrade Abdulatif Jos and some legal luminaries in the society among others
