A member of the House of Representatives for Yagba East/Yagba West/Mopa-Muro Federal Constituency, Honourable. Leke Abejide, has commended Oba Yoruba Kano, Dr. Muritala Alimi Otisese, for steadfast commitment in  strengthening ties among the Yoruba people and ensuring their growth and representation in northern Nigeria.
The lawmaker made this assertion,while hailing
 Oba Dr.Alimi Otisese, on his election as Vice Chairman of the Council of Yoruba Obas in the 19 Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory.
However,in a statement signed by
Hon Abejide ,a copy made available to press on Thursday, in Kano, the
lawmaker however described the election, held during the recent Council Congress in Zaria, Kaduna State, as a testament to Oba Yoruba Kano’s exceptional leadership and dedication to the Yoruba community in Kano and beyond.
Hon Abejide, who is the Asiwaju Yoruba Kano, emphasised that “His
tireless efforts in fostering unity and promoting the cultural heritage of Yorubas across the north have been instrumental in earning this esteemed position,”

Abejide lauded the monarch’s steadfast commitment to strengthening ties among the Yoruba people and ensuring their growth and representation in northern Nigeria.

He highlighted that “His  impactful leadership has resonated deeply within the Yoruba community in Kano, inspiring trust and respect that now extends to the broader northern region.

“As the Asiwaju Yoruba Kano, I am honoured to celebrate this milestone with you, Kabiyesi. Your visionary leadership and unrelenting dedication to the welfare of Yorubas have set an exemplary standard for all leaders. I am confident that your tenure as Vice Chairman will bring further progress and unity among Yorubas in the north,” Abejide remarked.

The lawmaker also pledged his unwavering support and commitment to working with the Vice Chairman to advance the Yoruba nation’s interests.

“Together, under your leadership, we will strive to ensure that the Yoruba people in Kano and across the northern region continue to flourish and benefit from stronger representation and cultural preservation,” he added.

In addition, Abejide extended his felicitations to the newly elected Chairman of the Council of Obas in the 19 Northern States and the Council members, wishing them success in their leadership roles.
