The Hausa community in Gobir in Sokoto state,have called on both Federal and state governments ,to find a lasting solution to the ways and manners the Fulani bandits have been terrorising and killing of the Hausa people, in Gobi kingdom
This was just as the body worried on how late Sarki Gobir, was kidnapped and subsequently murdered by the Fulani bandits adding that if a status of late Sarki Gobir could be so humiliated like that what would have been the fate of an ordinary person
The call was made by the Gobir Development Association (GDA) at a special press conference in Kano on Monday, where the spokesman of the group, Alhaji Ilyasu Yusuf, read a communique signed by the chairman and the secretary.
Alhaji Yusuf who boasted that since ” Inception of this dastardly act , called kidnapping and terrorisims,no Hausa of origene have been indicted nor been found participated,if not the Fulani bandits
It was so lamented that the late Sarki Gobir,could not be rescued from the hand of his Fulani kidnappers until after so many weeks been abducted ,but later died in the den of his abductors
He then queried,,” where is the security apparatus,why they could not locate this satanic people and could not brought to book and safe the life of late Sarki Gobir, from been sent to untimely death
According to him,” In the
communique which was issued at the end of the elders meeting held on the 7th September, 2024 in Abuja, the group made observations and resolutions while concluding that the Gobir people have exercised maturity and restraint in the face of provocation for peace to reign.
However,the group further called on the federal and state governments to do the needful to ensure that the spate of senseless killing and wanton abductions are brought to a decisive end.
Alhaji Yusuf also stated that
“Our patience is fast running out. Despite this, GDA elders call on all Hausas in general and the good people of Gobir Kingdom in particular, to remain law abiding despite the continuous provocation by fulani banditry activities against them; as the Hausas are not known to be law breakers.
“As bonafide citizens of Nigeria who deserve the right to be protected, the GDA elders further call on both Federal and Sokoto State Governments to strengthen the security of Sokoto East in general and Sabon Birni Local Government Local in particular.
“Finally, the good people of Gobir Kingdom DEMAND that the Federal and Sokoto State Governments deploy all available resources to secure the return of the body of the late Sarkin Gobir to allow his people give him a befitting burial” he stated.
Making this known on Monday,while addressing press in Kano, Professor condemned the abduction of Sarki Gobi and his subsequent gruesome killing by the Fulani bandits,
He said,” No Hausa people have been indicted in this saddy activities called kidnapping and terrorisims, adding that the Fulani people were the ring leader in this satanic attitude’
While also acknowledging the recent military operations in that led to the annihilation of one of the Fulani bandits’ kingpin Halilu Sububu, the group also called for sustainability and intensification of the military operations.
“Both Sokoto State and Federal Governments are hereby called upon to as a matter of urgency address the plight of the teaming population of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) occasioned by the increased incessant fulani banditry activities in Sokoto East in general and Sabon Birni Local Government in particular” the group appeals.
