Kola Oyelere Kano
The Lawmaker representing Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency of Kano State
and the chairman, House Committee on Petroleum (Upstream),Honourable Alhassan Ado Doguwa has expressed deep concern over what he described as persistent and politically motivated attacks on members and supporters of All Progressives Congress ( APC)in his constituency.
He made this known in a statement personally signed by the Lawmaker, a copy of which was made available to Journalists in Kano

Hon. Doguwa, however lamented that the latest incident occurred on August 28, 2025, when suspected political thugs invaded Tasarrufi General Enterprise, a factory in Tudun Wada local government area of the state.

He noted that” The assailants allegedly injured workers and destroyed property, leaving many residents in fear of further violence,”

He however added that the attack was not an isolated event but part of a larger pattern of intimidation targeted at APC members in Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency.

The Lawmaker therefore allegedly
accused the leadership of the ruling New Nigeria People’s Party at the local level of orchestrating the violence, singling out the chairperson of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Kano State chapter, Hajiya Sa’adatu Salisu Yusha’u.

He also  alleged that Yusha’u personally led the attackers to the scene, where she purportedly ordered the firing of shots at innocent individuals during what was described as a demolition exercise.

Hon.Doguwa  further alleged that the APC Chairman of Tudun Wada Local Government, Alhaji Suyudi Umar, was deliberately targeted in the violence.

“This is barbaric and unacceptable. No one, no matter how highly placed, is above the law. We cannot continue to condone acts that put the lives of our people and the stability of our democracy at risk,” Doguwa said, while calling for urgent intervention from security agencies.” He said

Hon.Doguwa then called on President Bola Tinubu and the national leadership of the APC to take the matter seriously, stressing that democracy thrives only when citizens can freely associate with the political party of their choice without intimidation or violence.

He also  urged his constituents to remain calm and law-abiding while awaiting the outcome of police investigations.

However, commenting on the matter, the Police Public Relations Officer( PPRO), SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa ,confirmed that it has launched a full scale investigation into the matter.

SP  Kiyawa disclosed that all relevant parties, including ALGON officials, community leaders, and witnesses, have been invited to give statements, assuring that justice would be served without fear or favour.

Also ,it will be recalled that an association under the umbrella of
Human Rights Network Nigeria (HRN-Nigeria) had on Thursday, 4th September 2025 filed a petition demanding a thorough probe into the incident.
