According to a statement issued by his spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa in Kano on Sunday,the
UN Deputy Secretary-General noted that her visit aimed to deepen advocacy on the SDGs and strengthen collaboration with the State.

She also expressed appreciation for Yusuf’s dedication to women’s empowerment, job creation, and environmental sustainability.
“Kano is like a country, and it should be treated as such in terms of development support.”she said

Earlier gov Yusuf expressed the readiness of the state for strategic partnerships with UN agencies in Nigeria, particularly in education, healthcare, climate change, renewable energy, environmental protection, and sustainable investment.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to advancing development policies that improve the quality of life for the people of Kano and contribute to global development efforts.
