Kano state police command,has arrested 98 suspects who involved 21, major cases of armed robbery, thuggery (Daba), kidnapping and other criminal activities
Making this known on Thursday,the state Commissioner of Police ( CP) Ibrahim Adamu Bakori,told the pressmen that “I am pleased to welcome you to this Press Briefing and I thank you for your continuous support and partnership in our collective efforts to ensure safety and security in Kano State”
According to him,”  The newly launched Operation Kukan Kura is being integrated into the several robust Operational Strategies earlier adopted be the Command that have had great impact in curbing crimes in the State,”
These including Intelligence-led Raid operations, visibilit patrols, strengthened synergy with other security agencies, strategic communication, and robust community policina engagements with traditional rulers, religious leaders, members of the press, youths groups, NGOs, CSOs, community member and other key stakeholders, ‘ he said
 He however stated that ”  This
 media briefing aims to bring you up to speed on the current security progressions made, and the crime fighting strateg adopted by the Command as well as the achievements recorded in our sustained efforts to rid the State of all forms of crimes and criminality.’
Bakori then disclosed that the “
exhibits recovered from them included dangerous weapons; suspected stolen motor vehicles, tricycles, motorcycles, mob phones etc.; illicit drugs and counterfeit currencies. The summary of the achievements recorded is as follows:
He said those suspects arrested were “21  armed robbers,four kidnappers ,five drug dealers ,12 motor vehicle thieves, four fraudster  and 47 suspected  thugs.
Bakori also listed items recovered to include,ten thousand counterfeit US dollar ($10,000),six motor vehicles,eight tricycles,nine  motorcycles and 42 tubes of red solutions
“Finally, I would like to thank members of the public for their cooperation. I assure you that the Kano State Police Comman remains committed to snsuring the safety and security of lives and property in the State. “
